Parnell Heritage
The garden consists of a series of integrated outdoor spaces which link the house with the garden seamlessly. The garden sequence begins with a well defined and distinctive entrance experience; two large planters flank the entry gate and guide pedestrians into a sheltered stone room that functions as a lobby. From here a cloistered walkway links the garage and street lobby to the front door. The walkway offers glimpses of the lawn court to one side and lush green planting through window openings on the other, while providing a sense of enclosure.
From the living room French doors open out onto the lawn court, where stepping stones and floating concrete stairs lead to a roof garden located above the garage. The roof garden offers views over Hobsons Bay and features a fireplace and louvered pergola above a dining setting.
At the rear of the house several secluded courtyards relating to the internal room layout provide a range of different outdoor spaces offering a choice of atmosphere and degree of privacy to suit any mood.
